Deep scene notes vs skimmable threads - any middle ground

When I leave beat-by-beat notes on a character’s arc, the thread turns into a wall that buries key turns; if I keep it short for readability, the author loses the connective tissue between beats. Could we get collapsible inline comments or a sidebar outline so detailed narrative notes don’t overwhelm the page but still stay anchored to the right moments?

What’s worked for me is leading each note with a single “Turn: X→Y” line and tucking the beat-by-beat under a summary/details toggle so you can skim the spine and expand only when needed; could we auto-build a sidebar that pulls those first lines?
